Burning Issues

Election day is coming and it's time to make your choice
Get out there and use your vote, let them hear your voice
You might think they're all the same, when you look behind the spin
No matter who you vote for, the government gets in
But make your choices wisely, consider their effect
Every vote is counted, every ballot checked
So ask them probing questions, make sure you hear them say
What they'll do about the burning issues of the day
Will you fund our education, will you bring the libraries back?
Do you think that Scotland should take down the Union Jack?
Will you pay my unemployment if I should get the sack?
And how will you protect us when the zombie hordes attack?
Leaflets through the mailbox where promises are made
Babies being kissed and there's posters on display
But did you check that their priorities are just the same as yours?
Are they big on social justice or just keen on starting wars?
Will you fund our education, will you bring the libraries back?
Do you think that Scotland should take down the Union Jack?
Will you pay my unemployment if I should get the sack?
And how will you protect us when the zombie hordes attack?
Will you pay the nurses fairly, stop cutting wages back?
Do you care about the climate, is HS2 on track?
Will you make the billionaires pay their share of tax?
And do you have a plan for when the zombie horde attacks?
Must we have a cabinet full of egomaniacs?
Will you keep on having parties,
with lockdown drinks and snacks,
But most importantly, I need to have the facts,
What will be the plan when the zombie horde attacks?
When the apocalypse is coming will you issue me an axe?
We'll need bunkers lined with concrete and supplies of protein packs,
The army will be helpless at society's collapse,
So we need to be prepared for when the zombie horde attacks.
With the undead on your doorstep you'll be sorry you were lax
So be sure to make a plan for when the zombie horde attacks.
Tell us the plan for when the zombie horde attacks?
Please God let's have a plan for when the zombie horde attacks.

Left or right, life is a maze
Always running, stay in the chase
Can't stand still or you're caught in a trap
Got to know your way round the map
Stay alert and earn your keep,
In every corner there's something to eat
Be good, clear your plate
Power up, keep the spectres at bay
And your reward for every success
Is the more you win the faster life gets
So level up, there's nowhere to hide
From Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde
Slay your demons, ward off the ghosts,
Relax for a couple of seconds at most
For three (high) score levels and ten
They're always back to haunt you again
Like Patrick McGoohan fleeing from Rover
It's when not if your game is over
Escape to the east, back on the west
No time to Pac-up and get some rest
And your reward for every success
Is the more you win the faster life gets
So level up, there's nowhere to hide
From Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde
Like Patrick McGoohan fleeing from Rover
It's when not if your game is over
Escape to the left, back on the right
Stay in the Shadows keep out of sight
And your reward for every success
Is the more you win the faster life gets
So level up, there's nowhere to hide
From Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde
And your reward for every success
Is the more you win the faster life gets
So level up, there's nowhere to hide
From Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde

Kitty Hawk

It's a freezing December morning
And we're sorry for the delay
But we've re-attached the propellor
So it's time to get underway
You've shown your passport, checked in your case
You're cleared by the folks from the TSA
You've got your duty free and arrived at the gate
At the airfield at Kitty Hawk
My name is Captain Orville
That's Wilbur to my right
We welcome you aboard
For this historic flight
We're ready for departure now,
So stow your bags, put the armrest down,
Fasten your belts then we'll be off the ground
From the airfield at Kitty Hawk
We expect some turbulence
So please stay in your seat
When we reach an altitude
Of just above ten feet
The engine is running, the power is fine
We'll be cruising after a gentle climb
And be at our destination in 12 seconds time
The airfield at Kitty Hawk
A hundred and twenty years later
Herded like a sheep to its pen
You mutter under your breath
"I'll never fly Ryanair again"
But soaring over oceans in a metal can
Watching ancient movies and eating something bland
Remember that your trip began
With the brothers at Kitty Hawk
On a windy Thursday morning on Kill Devil Hills,
The airfield at Kitty Hawk

Planets visited, moons observed
Sending images to our home world
Your mission has revealed a lot
To the primitive beings on the pale blue dot
You've sailed so far, and you're so near
To the edge of the heliosphere
So please deliver from planet Earth
Our message to the universe
We threw the smallest bottle in the largest sea
With sound and vision on a gold LP
Traversing interstellar space
An eternal record of the human race
After humankind has paid the cost
And all of our wars have been fought and lost
You'll be sailing towards the constellations
Bringing peace from every nation
The smallest bottle in the largest sea
Has sound and vision on a gold LP
Traversing interstellar space
An eternal record of the human race
When we've used up our final chance
Our gift to the stars will be song and dance
When all of life on Earth has gone
Distant worlds will hear our song
On Gliese 445 they'll sing
Of Johnny B. Goode and the Rite of Spring
We threw the smallest bottle in the largest sea
With sound and vision on a gold LP
Traversing interstellar space
An eternal record of the human race
We threw the smallest bottle in the largest sea
With sound and vision on a gold LP
Traversing interstellar space
An eternal record of the human race
